The summer solstice, occurring this year on Thursday, June 20, marks the astronomical start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the day with the most daylight hours, offering a full 15 hours of sunlight. After this peak, daylight hours will gradually shorten until the winter solstice on December 21.

Starting June 20, ice cream enthusiasts can visit FreeKrogerIceCream.com to claim their free treat. Upon accessing the site, customers can select their preferred Kroger-owned store from a list that includes Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, and several others. A limited-time, single-stretch digital coupon will be available for a free pint of Kroger brand ice cream, redeemable in-store, for pickup, or via delivery while supplies last. However, residents in California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Nevada, Tennessee, and Virginia will need to sit this promotion out, as it’s not available in these states.
